MapPoint has all Features and Functions of Streets & Trips and Supports GPS
Streets & Trips is a subset of MapPoint, all of the functionality in Streets & Trips are included in MapPoint. However MapPoint offers additional features for data mapping and visualizing demographic and location based information on a map. MapPoint includes extensive demographic and census data and easy to use wizards for customizing your map with territories, drive-time zones and your own personal symbols. MapPoint is the platform for all of the Microsoft mapping products. It supports business data analysis, OLE automation for custom add-ins.
Mobile GPS Online's GPS NavStar, GPSTrackP and GPSTrackRT software are based on MapPoint. It is required to install MapPoint 2002 or later version to run these programs.
System Requirements
Hardware:
- PC with Pentium II or Higher processor; Pentium III recommended
- Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP or later operating system
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 browser software; Internet Explorer 6, Service Pack 1 included
- 128 MB of RAM (256 MB recommended) Running additional applications simultaneously may require additional memory.
- 1 GB of available hard-disk space for standard installation (500 MB for minimum installation); some users may require up to an extra 100 MB for System Files Update (hard disk usage will vary depending on configuration)
- Quad-speed or faster CD-ROM drive
- Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution monitor with 256 colors; a monitor with higher resolution and more colors recommended
- Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device
Other:
- Microsoft Exchange, Internet SMTP/POP3, IMAP4, or MAPI-compliant messaging software required to use Send To as attachment; Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later required to use Send To as picture; Outlook 2000 or later required to import contacts
- Using GPS functionality with a GPS device other than the Microsoft USB GPS requires a GPS device that supports NMEA 2.0 or later, configured to use COM port 20 or less
- Some Internet functionality may require Internet access and payment of a separate fee to a service provider; local and/or long distance telephone charges may apply
- 14,400 or higher-baud modem
- A Pocket PC running Microsoft Windows CE 3.0 or later with ActiveSync 3.1 API and 500KB available program memory required for installation of Pocket Streets for Pocket PC. Installing map files requires additional memory, approximately 1 MB per city map
- A Microsoft Windows-powered Smartphone 2002, or Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone or later with ActiveSync 3.6 API and 350KB available program memory required for installation of Pocket Streets for Smartphone. Installing map files requires additional memory, approximately 1 MB per city map
