Online map services are a great start, but they can't compete with the full capabilities offered by Streets and Trips 2005. For starters, online map services require Internet access-with Streets & Trips 2005 you have immediate access to detailed maps and directions without having to connect online. What's more, the maps you create are considerably more detailed and customizable with Streets and Trips 2005-thanks in part to the multiple route capability and one-way street designations that many online sites don't provide. Combined with the ability to customize routes and import contact information from Outlook, Excel and other database file formats (offerings not provided by online map services), it's easy to see why Streets and Trips 2005 outshines the online options. - Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP or later operating system
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 browser software; Internet Explorer 6, Service Pack 1 included
- 128 MB of RAM (256 MB recommended) Running additional applications simultaneously may require additional memory.
- 1 GB of available hard-disk space for standard installation (500 MB for minimum installation); some users may require up to an extra 100 MB for System Files Update (hard disk usage will vary depending on configuration)
- Quad-speed or faster CD-ROM drive
- Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution monitor with 256 colors; a monitor with higher resolution and more colors recommended
