Overview
GEGPSTrack is the Google Earth based version of the GPSTrack. So, they have almost the same features and functions except that GEGPSTrack doesn't have the feature for planning daily work routes. The advantage of the GEGPSTrack is that it uses the free downloadable Google Earth software as its mapping platform. So, it is not only low cost but also covers most big cities of the world. It is an excellent GPS tracking solution for customers worldwide whose tracking area is not covered by digital maps but well covered by Google Earth satellite images.
Similar to GPSTrack system, GEGPSTrack has following four main functions:
- Track and monitor performance of drivers by checking their daily work routes and stops.
- Increase productivity and service quality by monitoring customer visits, deliveries and stops.
- Differentiate between legitimate and illegitimate activities
- Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)
For passive tracking, GEGPSTrack uses low-cost, easy to use and vendor independent GPS data loggers to record trip data. Then the recorded trip data are downloaded to your computer. In this way, you don't need to pay monthly or ongoing costs and have a powerful fleet management tool.
For real time tracking, GEGPSTrack is a state of the art mobile GPS tracking system specially designed for small business or personal assets. It is configurable to track your vehicles, assets or beloved ones by GPS enabled cell phones, GSM/GPRS based tracking units, satellite communication based global tracking units or RF modem based tracking devices etc..

System Components and Requirements
For Passive Tracking:
- GPS data logger that can record GPS data. Currently, GEGPSTrack version 6.0.0 supports all GPS Data logger based on NMEA Standard Data Format of the NMEA 2.0 or later version and some customized GPS data loggers. We can also customize the system to support a specific GPS data logger according to customer's request.
- GEGPSTrack software installed on a PC that meets following requirements:
- Microsoft® Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP
- 233 MHz processor or better
- 4x CD-Rom drive or better
- 128 MB RAM or better
- hard disk space of 20 GB
- Google Earth free version and Microsoft Office 2000 or later version including Excel and Access installed on the same PC with GEGPSTrack. You can download Google Earth for free from the Google Earth website: http://earth.google.com/.
For Real Time Tracking:
- GPS real time tracking devices that can transmit GPS data to an office PC via GSM/GPRS or Satellite based communication network. Currently GEGPSTrack version 6.0.0 supports following GPS tracking devices:

- GEGPSTrack software installed on a PC that meets following requirements:

Note: The GSM/GPRS/EDGE Modem, the Gateway software can be installed on the same PC with GEGPSTrack software or a different PC on the same network.
For Passive and Real Time Tracking:
- GEGPSTrack real time tracking system has all you need for passive tracking except the GPS data logger. So, if you have bought the real time tracking system, you can easily make it a passive tracking system simply by adding GPS data logger to the real time tracking system. However, if you want to make a passive tracking system to a real time tracking system. you need to purchase the GSM Modem, the Gateway software and the GPS tracking devices.
Note:
The license of GEGPSTrack software is controlled by a piece of small hardware USB dongle key. So, you must install the USB License Key Driver and connect the USB key before you can run the software.
